Maisie used more of her Christmas money (thanks G'ma and G'pa May) to upgrade George's digs:

He got double the water capacity, a new (fake) Japanese tree and, a new (live) plant. As fancy as it is, it was just too much for George to maintain and he gave up the ghost about two weeks after moving in (RIP George, you were a good fish and we're sorry we accidentally tore your fin off before we left on Christmas vacation). We couldn't let such a cool tank go to waste so Maisie chose the beautiful Ningyo (not pictured here) and her two side kicks Sushi and Sumo (snails) to be the new tenants. Here's hoping they live happy and healthy lives.

This made me laugh so hard, and also made me feel really bad for poor finless George. A fancy tank can be a lot to live up to, especially if you're missing some of your parts.
Hope things go better for Ningyo and friends. (is that his/her birth name or just a nickname?)
